I was amazed that yesterday Jillian said 3 new words. She said: turtle, owie and help.
So today I wanted to counted them. I keep track of the words and signs she says on a calendar type page on our fridge. I also write down special/fun things she does too. (I keep one for Wesley too).
As of today Jillian says 20+ words and has 24+ signs.
Here they are in no particular order…
Words:
- Nando – short for Hernando
- turtle
- owie
- help
- all done
- night night
- ball
- goodbye
- hi
- ma – which means more
- mmmm – which means milk
- mama
- dada – which was her first word
- meow – what a cat says
- cat
- nana – and sometimes banana
- duck
- tada
- go – we say ready, set and she says go
- bubble
- thank you
- And I am sure I am forgetting one/some
Signs:
- eat
- milk
- drink
- elephant
- frog
- monkey
- bird
- duck
- cow
- cat
- horse
- flower
- banana
- help
- owie/hurt
- bubble – she made this one up on her own.
- thank you
- fish
- all done
- goodbye
- hi
- please
- more
- dog
- And I am sure I am forgetting one/some
I just know that the lists will be growing bigger by the day. I can’t wait to hear what she says today.

when you say “signs” is that sign language?
Yes. We have been doing baby sign language with both her and Wesley. Now that Wesley is older – he will ask me how to do a sign. It is super cute.
That is SO incredibly awesome!!
Well, I also happen to know she says Yaya. She might not know what it means, but she says it, and that’s good enough for me! It is amazing to me how fast she is growing and changing. Great big kiss to you all.
