Lately our days have been pretty boring, but we made up for that on Friday.
In the morning before lunch, we had a fun time working on art projects and painting.
One of Wesley's paintings
Wesley spent a lot of time on each piece of art. He already has an idea of good and not good art. He commented several times how his was good and Jillian’s was not as good…
One of Jillian's paintings
Jillian worked a bit faster than Wesley, so here a few more of J’s paintings:

Then in the afternoon after naps, Wesley found a book about science experiments. He said to me, “let’s make some discoveries” and handed me the book with the experiment he wanted to do. (A new show on PBS called Dinosaur Train and they make hypothesis and discoveries and learn about dinosaurs.)
This is the experiment that Wesley picked.
Our first attempt failed… the eggs sank to the bottom. The salt water solution was not strong enough and the fresh water got a bit mixed. So we tried again.
Success!!
Magic eggs.
I really wanted them to just look at me and smile...but I should have known better.
They they wanted to do a bit of experimenting on their own:

Pouring his own salt.

Helping Jillian - pouring the salt for her.

carefully...

...carefully...

...made it!
Our experiment went so well, that I bet there will be many more in our future!
Amber, it is so great that you do these things with your kids. They are becoming such amazing human beings with a sense of wonder and curiosity and joy – because you encourage and support them so beautifully. You and Joshua are amazing parents.
